Manuel Cabrera is working to build social housing in Algeria using an industrialized tunnel formwork system, in partnership with two companies from the Marina Baja region specializing in this type of construction.
The tunnel formwork system allows for the construction of one floor of reinforced concrete load-bearing walls per day.
The Algerian government’s program for the coming years aims to build 3 million homes.
Manuel Cabrera has experience building this type of housing, having used this system during the housing boom of the 1960s and 70s in the large commuter towns around Madrid and Barcelona.
